Bush warns Syria, Iran

CRAWFORD (Texas) July 21. The U.S. President, George W. Bush, today accused Syria and Iran of supporting "terrorists" that undermined West Asia peace efforts.

"Today Syria and Iran continue to harbour and assist terrorists. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and states that support terror will be held accountable," he said at a news conference at his Texas ranch with the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi.

Mr. Bush said he was monitoring the deepening crisis in Liberia. "We just sent a group of troops in to protect our interests and we are concerned about the people in Liberia," he said, hours after a shell slammed into the U.S. embassy there. — Reuters
