Rajiv Gandhi award

NEW DELHI JULY 23. Eminent Gandhian, S.N. Subba Rao, has been selected for this year's Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award for his outstanding contribution towards communal harmony and national integration, particularly through the national youth projects movement.

The award which carries a citation and a purse of Rs.2.5 lakhs would be presented here at a special ceremony, on August 20, the birth anniversary of the late Rajiv Gandhi, a press release by the award advisory committee said today. The decision was taken at a meeting of the advisory committee which met here recently under the Chairmanship of former Chief Justice of India, A.M. Ahmadi.
