A two time MP from Ernakulam, Mr. Eden, was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital a few days ago and was later shifted to the AIIMS where he died. The Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, and many prominent leaders paid homage to him at his 26, South Avenue residence. His body was taken to Kochi by a special flight in the afternoon for the funeral. A lawyer by profession, Mr. Eden rose to prominence as a student leader and became a member of the Kerala Assembly in 1991 and 1996.This is the second time a Congress sitting MP from Ernakulam has died. The first was Xavier Arackal in 1997. Mr. Eden is survived by a son and a daughter. . UNI Our New Delhi Special Correspondent writes: In a condolence message, the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, described Mr. Eden as a able parliamentarian and a very popular social worker.The Lok Sabha Speaker, Manohar Joshi, said that Mr. Eden took a keen interest in Parliamentary debates
