3 die in firing across LoC

JAMMU JULY 27. Two Indians and a Pakistani were killed in an exchange of fire and in shelling across the Line of Control and the border here.

Pakistani Rangers, using light arms, fired on Indian positions in R.S. Pura's Suchetgarh area, killing a BSF head-constable.

Indian troops retaliated, felling a Pakistani Ranger. Pakistani troops rained mortar shells and bombs since the early hours in Krishna Ghati, Salotri, Balakote, Ganni and Jhallas areas in Poonch district. One civilian was killed.
