ONGC official arrested

Dehra Dun July 29. The ONGC officer, whose wife and daughter allegedly committed suicide, was arrested this evening, police said.

S. Bhaskaran was arrested under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) after his wife Shailaja (35) and daughter Nandini (9) committed suicide in their house at Maharani Bagh here on Saturday night.

The arrest came after Shailaja's parents lodged an FIR against Bhaskaran stating that he was harassing their daughter and that she suspected foul play. Shailaja, along with her daughter, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in their house on Saturday night by Bhaskaran.

He then called a doctor who declared them dead.
