"No assurance has been given. The Prime Minister had told her (Chief Minister) that `your letter has been received and we are examining it'," he told the Rajya Sabha during zero hour. Raising the issue, CPI (M) member, Nilotpal Basu, said the Taj project had raised a lot of controversy and the Chief Minister had demanded the removal of Mr. Jagmohan. But, Ms. Mayawati later withdrew the demand on the basis of some assurances given by the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister, he said. Mr. Basu wanted to know what assurances were given.
