Golf
According to information received here on Friday, the other Indian in the fray, Asia's No. 1 player Jyoti Randhawa failed to make the cut after firing a seven-over 79, to aggregate eight-over 152 for the tournament. Chiranjeev started in style with a birdie and looked good to build on that foundation before three putting on the fourth for his first dropped shot. Going into the return journey at level-par, the 31-year-old dropped another shot on the 12th but steadied the ship with birdies on the 13th and 17th. Taichi Teshima of Japan shot a second round eight-under 64 to leap into a one-stroke lead over countrymate Katsumasa Miyamoto at 13-under 131. Teshima, currently sixth in the Order of Merit, has seven top-15 finishes this season, including a tied-second finish at The Crowns. He had a bogey free round today, with eight crisp birdies studding his card on the first, third, seventh, ninth, tenth, 11th, 14th and 17th. Miyamoto, one of the three golfers to shoot a 64 today, was followed by Hidehisa Shikata at 11-under 133. Tetsuji Hiratsuka, the other golfer to shoot 64, occupied the fourth position, one stroke behind Hiratsuka. However, the best card of the day was brought in by Taiwan's Yeh-Wei Tze, who fired a nine-under 63 to jump up to tied-fifth at nine-under 135.
