'No threat from China'

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI AUG. 1. The Defence Minister, George Fernandes, today said China's incursion into Arunachal Pradesh had not jeopardised national security. "Our borders are not threatened. As far as China's attitude to the border dispute is concerned, there is no threat," he said, soon after disembarking from the MiG-21 flight. Asked whether India could match China's military might, he said: "Why do you want that? We will see when any eventuality arises."
