Bill banning cow slaughter soon

New Delhi Aug. 4. The Government hopes to bring a legislation to ban cow slaughter and check inter-state smuggling of bovines in the current session of Parliament, the Agiculture Minister, Rajnath Singh, said today.

The Minister informed the Lok Sabha that milk production in the country had gone up to 8.46 crore tonne in 2001-2002 from 6.38 crore tonne in 1994-95. — UNI
