Five killed in copter crash

SRINAGAR AUG. 5. Five persons, including four pilgrims, were killed and one injured when a helicopter ferrying them from the Amarnath cave shrine crashed today about 10 minutes before it was to land at the Nehru helipad, apparently after hitting a tree on a hilltop in Gandarbal, 30 km from here. The dead included the pilot of the State-owned six-seater BEL 407 and a woman pilgrim. The State Government has ordered an inquiry into the accident which occurred around 7.30 a.m. — PTI
