Quake jolts Gujarat

AHMEDABAD Aug. 5 . Panic gripped several parts of Gujarat today as an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale jolted the State, including Kutch which was the worst hit by an earthquake over two years ago which killed more than 20,000 people.

The Meteorological centre said the epicentre was somewhere in the Rann of Kutch near Bhuj.

There were no immediate reports of loss of life or property.

The shock was felt throughout the State from Kutch in the north to Surat and Bulsar in south Gujarat.
