MP's gesture to Bismillah Khan

NEW DELHI AUG. 6. The Congress MP, T. Subbarami Reddy, has decided to donate two years' salary and allowances, totalling Rs. 10 lakhs, to the shehnai maestro, Bismillah Khan.

A philanthropist, Mr. Reddy said the Ustad, a messenger of love, deserved honour and respect.

Today, he donated Rs. 2 lakhs, salary and allowances for the last five months. From next month onwards, he will be sending his monthly salary and allowance to the octogenarian artist for 19 months. — UNI
