Girl rescued

Jamshedpur Aug. 9. Shweta Kumari (7) was rescued unharmed from a house at Gitilpi village of West Singhbhum district early today in a joint raid by Bihar and Jharkhand police, police said.

A joint police team, following a tip-off that some criminals travelling in a van had taken shelter in a lodge at Chakradharpur in Jharkhand, raided it. The interrogation of the driver, Sunil Yadav, a resident of Patna, led to the raid on the house in Gitilpi, where the child was hidden.

Four persons, including the driver and the house owner were arrested. — PTI
