Congress has proved its strength: Poojary

By Our Special Correspondent

Bangalore Aug. 11. Reacting to the victory of the Congress in the elections to the Krishnarajapuram City Municipal Council, the KPCC President, B.Janardhana Poojary, said the message was that the Congress did not need to tie-up with any other party in the State.

It also showed that a united Janata Parivar could pose no challenge to the Congress, he said.

In a statement to the Press, Mr. Poojary said that the results of the elections were also a vote for the leadership of the AICC President, Sonia Gandhi, and an endorsement of the achievements of the S.M.Krishna Government.

At a press conference, Mr. Poojary did not want to attribute the credit for the victory to any individual leader. "It is a victory for the people and I would like to thank them immensely," he said.
