A multi-faceted personality, Nair, who had participated in the freedom movement, had been a novelist and short-story writer, an activist of the Granthasala Sanghom and various literary organisations and also a journalist. Nair, who entered public life in his teens, participating in the State Congress activities, attracted literary fame through his novel, `Jeevikan Marannupoya Sthree,' which was made into a movie, and also translated into many other Indian languages. He was also one of the founding members of the Granthasala Sanghom and Sahitya Pravarthaka Cooperative Society (SPCS). He served as the general manager of the National Book Stall(NBS), the marketing division of SPCS. He has also worked as the editor of Pakkanar magazine and also served on the editorial board of several other publications. Nair is survived by his wife and four children. The cremation will be held at his house in Puliyannor near Pala.
