Hacked to death

CHENNAI AUG.11. A suspected four-member gang hacked to death a 30-year-old person at Nagammai Nagar, Thirumullaivoyal, on Monday morning.

The police identified the deceased as Viju Verghese, owner of an STD booth in Sathyamurthy Nagar. The gang members attacked him with sharp weapons at around 9 a.m. He died on way to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. A hunt was on for the gang, the Avadi Deputy Superintendent of Police, Veerapandian, said. The police suspect previous enmity to be the motive for the murder.
