By Our Staff Reporter

JAMMU AUG. 13. Security agencies have busted what they call a terrorist network that sent Muslim youth from other communally-sensitive States to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, via the forward areas of Jammu region, for arms training.Official sources said the arrest of two workers, Latif Pathan and Sadiq Malik, has thrown light on the network's operations.Pathan, a truck driver and resident of Kullain area of Poonch, plying on the Jammu-Ahmedabad route, is being questioned by the J and K security agencies, while Malik is in the hands of the Gujarat police.

Patan, who duped the security agencies by posing as a truck driver, recently transported 24 Gujarati Muslim youth to Poonch in Jammu for being taken to PoK.

While Pathan was allegedly responsible for transporting the youth from Ahmedabad to Poonch, the financial aspect was taken care of by Malik, a resident of Hari in Surankote tehsil. For every trip, Patan was paid Rs.10,000 by Malik.

The arrested agents of the Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence have revealed that at least 24 persons from different parts of Ahmedabad crossed over to Pakistan for arms training through the Line of Control in Poonch during the last six months.
