Eve-teasing drives them to sleeping pills

By Our Staff Reporter

Tirunelveli Aug. 13. Eve-teasers seem to be back at it. Following an incident near Kulasekaram, two girls swallowed sleeping tablets and have been admitted to hospital in ``critical condition''.

A. Mary Bella Angel (20) of Kodungulam, and her friend, M. Subhiya (18) of Theruvikonam were allegedly teased by Sunil (19), Vincent (19), Albert (19) and Jesudoss (23) when the girls were going to their workplace, a private hospital at Piranthoode. As the problem worsened, the girls reportedly mailed a complaint to the police. However, as the situation remained unchanged, they swallowed sleeping tablets. The police have now arrested the four.
