According to an official spokesperson, Paratrooper Sanjog Chhetri of the 9 PARA (Special Forces), was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra. Subedar Dil Bahadur Thapa of the 9 Assam regiment received the Kirti Chakra. Six others were given the award posthumously. Besides, 37 personnel were awarded Shaurya Chakras and as many as 202 the Sena Medal. Also, while 3 personnel were awarded the Nausena Medal, 7 personnel were named for Bar to Sena Medal awarded the Medal for a second time.
