Eugene Morozov, President D Data Inc, said the company was keen to establish partnerships at various levels with Indian DVD and consumer electronic manufacturers. He said DMDs would change the face of cinema and digital data storage all over the world and Bollywood, being one of the largest producers of films, would greatly benefit from the new technology. He asserted that the technology was cost effective yet the result was excellent and said he would meet representatives from Bollywood to make them aware of the latest technology. Mr. Morozov explained that DMD was a single disc with multiple layers of information `stacked' vertically. Significantly, the technology uses incoherent fluorescent response light, allowing multiple layers while maintaining standard SNR ratio. He explained that multiple layers yielded dramatically higher capacity per disc. He asserted that DMDs had inherent advantages over other disks in that DMDs had true 3 D storage and parallel reading and writing. DMD also offered content providers with unique copyright protection feature. He further said DMD was the only removable high capacity storage media that offered professional quality standards at consumer friendly prices. Y. P. Kumar, Advisor, Department of Science and Technology, added that the Department would extend all cooperation to D Data in launching this technology in India. He lauded D Data's innovation and said Indian industry would be eager to adopt the new technology.
