Freedom fighters for Port Blair

CHENNAI AUG. 14. A total of 50 freedom fighters and physically challenged persons are among the passengers to be flown to Port Blair from here by the Indian Airlines to commemorate its Golden Jubilee and to mark the 56th Independence Day.

They will leave on Friday and the team will be led by the Union Minister of State for Information and Technology, S. Thirunavukkarasar, said the Regional Director-South of Indian Airlines, Yashvir Kumar, said.

The participants have been drawn from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and the Union Territory of Pondicherry.
