President's award for 18 ITBP personnel

New Delhi Aug. 15. Eighteen Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel have been awarded the President's Police Medal for Gallantry for Distinguished Service and for Meritorious Service on the occasion of the 56th Independence Day.

Prominent among them are: the Additional Director General, J. K. Sinha, who will be awarded for his Distinguished Service. The Deputy Inspector General, S. V. Tyagi, is the other officer named for the award.

Inspector Harjeet Singh, Assistant Commandant Hosiyar Singh, Deputy Commandant Ashok Kumar Negi, constables Khurshid Ahmad, Rattan Lal, K. H. Rajendra Singha, Santosh Kumar and Chunnu Lal have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry.

The award for Meritorious Service has gone to Commandant Harbhajan Singh Goraya, Inspectors Shishpal Singh and A. C. Khokar, Sub-Inspectors S. R. Rajta and Bhupendra Singh and constables Nandan Singh and Hardayal.
