Workers of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation breaking bottles of soft drinks in Bhopal on Saturday, after its officials raided the premises where they were stored. They destroyed more than 3000 bottles of the cold drinks and are planning more such raids all over the city in the coming days.
Dr. Prakash told presspersons here that the analysis of the cola samples was a long procedure. "Since we may require some more samples, I cannot say when the report can be submitted. It is a serious matter and a decision cannot be arrived at immediately." Asked about the number of samples that the institute had received, he said he could not disclose it. The cola samples arrived at the CFTRI on Saturday last for a detailed analysis, following "revelations" by an NGO that leading brands of colas contained residues of pesticides beyond the permissible limits. The reports of the analysis, it is learnt, will be submitted directly to the Union Ministry of Health.
