J & K goes `mobile'

Jammu Aug. 17. Mobile telephony was launched in Jammu and Kashmir today, and the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) said the booking would start from tomorrow.

``It is good news for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Acting on the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee's promise to the people here in his Independence Day speech, the BSNL will start booking from August 18 to 25 in Jammu and Srinagar'', the Chief General Manager of the BSNL, Jammu and Kashmir Circle, Arun Kumar, told reporters here. — PTI
