Anna Hazare ends fast

Mumbai Aug. 17. Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare today ended his nine-day fast at around 7 p.m. after the Maharashtra Government agreed to most of his demands this evening.

He broke his fast by accepting a glass of juice from Tukaram Gitacharya, chief of the Gurudev Seva Mandal. Mr. Hazare had sent a draft listing his demands to the Maharashtra Government. — UNI
