17 Maoists killed

Kathmandu Aug. 18. In the bloodiest clash since the peace talks began, Nepalese soldiers killed 17 rebels in an encounter in far-east Nepal, official sources said today. Maoists last night attacked the security forces near their camp in Ramechhap district, forcing them to retaliate, the sources said. — PTI
