Poor response to VHP bandh

By K. Balchand

PATNA AUG. 19. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad's call for a State-wide bandh to protest the deportation of its two senior leaders, Praveen Togadia and Giriraj Kishore, by the RJD-led Government in Bihar last week apprehending law and order problems, evoked little or no response today.

While all precautionary measures were taken, normal life, however, was not affected. No VHP supporters were noticeable and no attempt was actually made to enforce the bandh.
