Sir, — It is a pity that Narendra Modi said the wrong things about NGOs in London ( Aug. 19 ). After the Gujarat earthquake, NGOs from all over the world donated crores of rupees. Hundreds of volunteers participated in relief work. Mr. Modi's statement that the NGOs have "destroyed the country" is highly objectionable.
