Short-sighted

Sir, — This refers to "Opposition vows to fight BJP" (Aug. 14). The objective seems to be short-sighted. The Opposition parties have not taken any positive step to emerge out of the debris of confusion and the wrong policies adopted by their leadership. Speculation on a prime ministerial candidate has been the insurmountable challenge. The secular and democratic parties must unite on the basis of a sound and common programme.

M.A. Qayum,
Hyderabad
