Letters to the Editor
Sir, When the recent Gulf war seemed inevitable, the whole country resorted to austerity measures. If the same is done in our day-to-day lives, it will go a long way in saving national resources. A perennially open municipal tap, gloriously illuminated sodium vapour lamps at noon, petrol guzzling cars, and wasteful expenditure by individuals and Government departments have all contributed to the erosion of national wealth.
