`FIRs against Advani, Joshi false'

RAE BARELI AUG. 21. Defence counsel in the Ayodhya demolition case today claimed in court that two cases filed against eight accused, including the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, and the Union Human Resource and Development Minister, Murli Manohar Joshi, had ``glaring discrepancies'' and were riddled with ``falsehood.''

Defence counsel, Kunwar Mridul Rakesh, in the presence of special Ayodhya court presiding officer, V.K. Singh, said case no. 197/ 92 and 198/ 92 had glaring anomalies and all the eight accused in the case should be discharged under section 239 of the CrPC as the CBI charges were not sustainable against them. — UNI
