Framing of charges against Advani, Joshi on Sept. 3

Rae Bareilly Aug. 21 . In the Babri Masjid demolition case against the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, and seven others, the defence counsel concluded his arguments in the special court here, which fixed September 3 for framing of charges against them.

Both the CBI and the accused, including Mr. Advani, the Union Minister, M. M. Joshi, the Uttar Pradesh BJP chief, Vinay Katiyar, the former Union Minister, Uma Bharti, and others, have been given an opportunity to submit papers in support of their arguments up to August 27.

The defence counsel said that from the video films and statements of several witnesses it was proved that his clients were not present at the site when the mosque was demolished. — PTI
