HYDERABAD: Aug. 22. The State Teachers Union has hailed the sanction of earned leave to Government teachers who underwent a training programme on quality improvement during the summer vacation foregoing their holidays. The association in a statement appealed to the teachers to get the leave credited to their account by submitting the attendance certificates to the District Educational Officers. In a separate statement, the union demanded the withdrawal of the proceedings issued by the Commissioner, School Education, posting only one teacher for schools with a strength of 30. The proceedings harmed the prospects of primary education. The union condoled the death of a teacher from Anantapur who is its secretary, D. Basha Saheb.
