The delegation, which met Mr. Vajpayee on Friday, made several proposals, including live telecast of the ceremony.
It suggested a 30-minute slot on the DD national network on October 18, for telecast of a special documentary on the Mother. In a statement, Mr. Atkinson said the CBCI requested that a portrait of Mother Teresa be kept in the central hall of Parliament/central library along with all works on her. The organisation would contribute to the expenses. The other proposals made included naming a Central scheme for social development after Mother Teresa, establishing a place in a national museum in her memory, depicting her life and activities, and institution of a national award in her memory.
