Karnataka-Bangalore
By Our Staff Reporter
The Judge, Chidananda Ullal, passed the order following a petition by Kavitha Lankesh, director of the film. In her petition, Ms. Lankesh stated that the authorities of Puttanna cinema at 4th Block, Jayanagar, had summarily withdrawn the screening of her film to make way for the screening of ''Nanjundi'' produced by Ramu. Mr. Justice Ullal ordered that "Preeti, Prema, Pranaya" be screened at Puttanna cinema till the next hearing of the case on August 27. As Puttanna is a State-owned cinema, Ms. Lankesh had named the State Government, the Managing Director of the Karnataka Film Industry Development Corporation, and the manager of Puttanna cinema as the respondents. Ms. Lankesh had lodged a complaint through her firm, Bazaar Films, with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce against Mr. Ramu for releasing his film, ''Nanjundi'', for screening at Puttanna cinema by allegedly persuading its authorities to withdraw the screening of her movie. The chamber had reportedly ruled in her favour.
