At a press conference here today, the DYFI secretary, A. Pradeepkumar, said the details of the agitation would be chalked out later by holding discussions with other Left youth organisations. The Centre and State Governments should ban these soft drinks containing ``heavy poison causing birth defects and cancer'', he said. ``Residues of toxic pesticides and insecticides such as lindane, DDT, chlorpyrifos and malathion were found on testing Pepsi, Coca-Cola and other soft drinks,'' he said. Our Staff Reporter adds from Palakkad: Workers of the Coca-Cola unit at Plachimada with their family members, including women and children, today took out a march from the Victoria College to the Collectorate to protest against the Perumatty Grama Panchayat cancelling the company's licence. The workers also sat on a dharna in front of the Civil Station, later.
