CM's brother assails Minister

By Our Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI. Aug. 23. Ramamurthy Naidu, the estranged younger brother of the Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday assailed the District Minister, B. Gopalakrisna Reddy, for the latter's alleged remarks against him recently.

Talking to mediapersons, he said Mr. Gopalakrishna Reddy who had spoken ill of the party and became disgruntled when he was not taken into the Cabinet in the first instalment had no moral right to criticise him. Mr. Ramamurthy Naidu has been taking pot shots both at the party and his brother every now and then after he was sidelined by the CM following his defeat in the last election from the Chandragiri constituency.

The apparent reason for his outburst this time was the expulsion of his close follower and the Chandragiri MPP president, Lokaiah Naidu, from the TDP for allegedly indulging in anti-party activity.

Hinting that the expulsion would trigger a `chain-reaction' in the district, he said Mr. Gopalakrishna Reddy who was behind the MPP's expulsion was in for trouble from the party high command for precipitating the matter.

Meanwhile, the expelled MPP president and four MPTCs of the mandal resigned from the primary membership of the TDP.

Criticising the District Minister, the former Chandragiri MLA alleged that the Minister had amassed money by indulging in corrupt practices in irrigation and R&B works misusing his office as Minister.
