Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Aug.23. Rich tributes were paid to Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu on the occassion of his 131st birth anniversary on Saturday. The Chief Minister, N.Chandrababu Naidu, garlanded the statue of Prakasam near the Assembly before leaving on a tour of Visakhapatnam district. The APCC-I president, D.Srinivas, garlanded the portrait of Prakasam Pantulu at Gandhi Bhavan. Tlhe Union Minister of State for Railways, Bandaru Dattatreya, the State BJP president, N. Indrasena Reddy, and others also garlanded his statue. At a meeting at Press Club held under the chairmanship of Y.S.Narasimha Rao, chairman of the Andhra Kesari Prakasam National Academy, speakers recalled the services and sacrifices of Prakasam, especially the exemplary courage displayed by him in fighting the British.
