Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Aug.23. The APCC president, D.Srinivas, in a letter on Saturday urged the Chief Minister, N.Chandrababu Naidu, to elicit public opinion on the ambitious river-linking project being planned by the Centre. An all-party meet should be convened, he added. There were serious apprehensions on the possible benefits accruing to the State because of the project and the State might even end up losing the surplus Godavari waters, he warned. Referring to Mr.Naidu's demand that the river interlinking programme should begin with AP, Mr.Srinvas said there was no rationale in extending such an argument without understanding the fallout of the project.
