NEW DELHI AUG. 23. The Delhi Chief Secretary, Shailja Chandra, on Friday held a meeting with suppliers of milk to review its availability in the Capital. The Managing Director of Mother Dairy besides representatives of Delhi Milk Scheme, Gopaljee, Parag, and Britannia were present.

It was found that the overall supply by Mother Dairy had reduced since Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami from 16.7 lakh litres to 14.5 lakh litres a day. The representatives of Gopaljee, Britannia and DMS said that they had stepped up production of milk for sale in Delhi.

To ensure that there was no indiscriminate hoarding of milk, prices were kept under check, a task force committee has been set up under the Chairmanship of the Special Commissioner (Transport), Jalaj Srivastava, who would be assisted by the Additional Commissioner (Food &Supplies), Police and Director, Prevention of Food Adulteration .
