Integrate market: Ranil

CHENNAI Aug. 23. The Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, today proposed the formation of a single integrated market in the South India-Sri Lanka sub-region to benefit the economies of both nations. Sri Lanka and India working as an integrated marketplace could offer strong opportunities for potential investors, he said delivering the Millennium lecture organised by The Hindu Media Resource Centre for Sustainable Development, M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai. A land bridge between Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu and Talaimannar in Sri Lanka could be one of the final steps in integration, he added.
