Karnataka-Bangalore
By Our Special Correspondent
In a statement to the press, Mr. Kumar wondered which 25 per cent of seats the private managements had agreed to accept in their talks with the Government. If what was being stated was to be believed, the managements had defied the Government and gone ahead admitting students. He demanded that the Government protect the interests of students from the middle and lower-income families and not take any decision favouring the managements in fixing the fee structure in professional colleges. Reacting to the reported warning issued by the President of State unit of the Congress, Janardhana Poojary, to the Minister of State for Revenue, M. Mallikarjuna Nagappa, with regard to drought relief, Mr. Kumar said that it was only an endorsement of what the BJP had been complaining about the ministers for long.
