India must keep off from Sri Lankan peace process: Swamy

New Delhi Aug. 24. The Janata Party president, Subramanian Swamy, today said India should not participate in the peace process in Sri Lanka. In a statement here, he said India must have nothing to do with the current peace negotiations between the Sri Lankan Government and the LTTE.

Dr. Swamy was commenting on the remarks by the Sri Lankan President, Chandrika Kumaratunga's International Affairs Adviser and former Foreign Minister, Lakshman Kadirgamar, that India had gone into a ``sleepy mode'' and was unaware of the growing strength of the Tigers in the north-eastern district of Trincomalee that could threaten India's interests.
