Various ongoing programmes were reviewed and fine-tuned. The party made it known that it was determined to wrest four States from the Congress Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and expected all its MLAs and MPs to fight the battle alongside party workers. While the party president, Venkaiah Naidu, chaired both the meetings, the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, the three senior BJP general secretaries Pramod Mahajan, Sanjay Joshi and M.A. Naqvi and senior leaders from the concerned States attended. For the Delhi meeting Madanlal Khurana, V.K. Malhotra, Sahib Singh Verma and Vijay Goel were present and for Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje and Ramdas Aggarwal participated. A senior party leader from Delhi later said that the process of selection of candidates for the Delhi Assembly election would begin by the end of this month after the ongoing `yatra' by Mr. Khurana is completed. There has been no change in strategy, he added. The Delhi strategy would be given a final shape at another meeting tomorrow between Mr. Mahajan, overall election in-charge, campaign committee chairman, V.K. Malhotra, and Delhi in-charge, Mr. Naqvi.
