He was immediately taken to Maharashtra. The City police officials received a text message from the Pune police in this connection which read like this: "In pursuance of the orders issued by the Special Judge of Maharashtra Organised Crime Control Act Court, C. Krishna Yadav, MLA, is arrested at 12.57 p.m.'' While confirming the legislator's arrest, the Hyderabad Additional Commissioner of Police (Co-ordination), A.K. Khan, pleaded ignorance about other details. "We're yet to receive further information about the charges,'' he said. Even as speculation was rife about the reasons behind the MLA's arrest, preliminary inquiries revealed that the Pune police stumbled upon evidence that Mr. Yadav had spoken to Devi, a Hyderabadi arrested in connection with the fake stamp papers case in Maharashtra, over telephone. Devi is believed to be a resident of Mekalamandi at Aliyabad in old city. Sources said the investigating agencies recorded the telephone conversation between Devi and the MLA. Devi reportedly called up from Maharashtra seeking help from Mr. Yadav for his release. The Home Minister, T. Devender Goud, said the Government was informed of Mr. Yadav's arrest. "We're also inquiring and awaiting for further details,'' he said.
