Leave it to parents

Sir, — Murli Manohar Joshi has made a strong plea for abolishing English as a medium of education as it hampers bringing out the best in a child (Sept. 5). This will jeopardise the average Indian student. The choice of medium can be left to the parents. They alone are competent to decide whether their children need to study in the English medium or not.
