Letters to the Editor
Sir, I haven't missed reading The Hindu for a single day since my youth. A glance at the headlines was a must even on the busiest of days. Even the elderly can read the paper without much trouble as the quality of print is excellent. I remember a professor of mine saying that reading The Hindu develops language and vocabulary. Sujit Sugumaran, Coimbatore, T.N. * * * Sir, Congratulations on completing 125 years. The make-up and language are superb, and the print is easy on the eye. However, for quite sometime, the reporting has become partisan. No amount of soul-searching can erase that feeling. V.S. Rao Gollapalli, Visakhapatnam * * * Sir, I have been a regular subscriber for the last 44 years. Every reader would acknowledge its "truth telling", the main reason for its 125-year reign. S. Rengarajan, Rajapalayam, T.N. * * * Sir, From a rupee and three quarters to a staggering Rs.400 crores and from 80 copies a week to over 900,000 copies a day, and from six persons to a few thousands now, it has been a marvellous, memorable and marathon journalistic march for The Hindu. R. Dwarakanatha Rao, Guntakal, A.P. * * * Sir, Can you imagine Hamlet without the Prince of Denmark? So is the world without The Hindu. R. Srinivasan, Hyderabad * * * Sir, As an enthusiastic reader for nearly half a century, I have always been enthralled by its encyclopaedic range of information, dignified expression, objective analysis and intensely patriotic perspective. Varghese Chacko Kaduvettoor, Mavelikara, Kerala
