Letters to the Editor
Sir, I was pleased to see the picture of Muslims of Chennai greeting the Ganesh procession (Sept. 8). They have set a shining example for the whole country. I am sure Hindus will reciprocate the gesture by exchanging greetings on Muslim festivals. Wg. Cdr. K. Parthasarathi, Chennai * * * Sir, The photo showing bare-chested, `dhoti' clad devotees of Ganesha (Sept. 8) littering the streets of Paris with broken coconut shells, does not generate a sense of pride for our Indian community. It reflects a crude exercise in showmanship. It is not necessary to impress the people of the West of our spirituality. An educated Westerner is well aware of our philosophy and culture. Dhiraj Dangoria, Hyderabad
