Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Supreme Court judgment in the disinvestment case of the oil majors, HPCL and BPCL, is likely to delay the reforms process which is vital for the progress of the country. The stand of the Congress, which was instrumental in heralding the reforms process in the early 1990s, is opportunistic, as it has already said that it will not support the Government if and when it brings the issue before Parliament.
V. Padmanabhan,
Sir, I strongly oppose the disinvestment in BPCL and HPCL. I do not see why the process of hasty sellout of two revenue giants was initiated. At the end, it is becoming a duck and the golden egg story.
R. Hari Shankar,
