Former Minister dead

MUMBAI SEPT. 29. V. Subramanian(83), former Maharashtra Minister and chairman emeritus of the Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeetha Sabha, passed away here this morning after a brief illness. He joined the Indian Administrative Service after a brief stint in the Army.A member of the Maharashtra Assembly, he was a Cabinet Minister holding important portfolios. He later gave up politics to do social service. He was a rural development adviser to the Mafatlal Group of Industries and a Honorary Director of the Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation's Council of Advisers.
